Not brave. Not even hit. Just early.

Q is the correct dodge almost every time. It’s free, it doesn’t touch a two-minute cooldown, and it gets you out before the cast even finishes. This clip skips that option because the trade is already lost by the time R gets pressed: Lux’s snare lands first, so there’s no window left to blink away from an ultimate that’s already traveling. R doesn’t trade damage for damage here, it dodges the hit outright: cast it on the exact frame the beam would connect and neither the real body nor the clone that appears in its place takes anything from it. The margin for that timing is thin, a beat late and it’s a real ult landing on a real, snared target. Worth the risk anyway: a two-minute cooldown only makes sense spent on the one hit that was going to end the fight.
